Virgencita del talar
Alberto Vaccarezza
Our Lady of the Talar
Our Lady of the Talar,
I ask you please,
to calm my cruel pain
because it's going to kill me,
and I don't want love
to become my dagger,
I gave you my whole life,
I gave you my heart.
Like the sweet honey
the little bee gives from the hive,
hardworking and unaware
that after so much effort,
another mouth will taste
the immaterial sweetness,
extracted from its affection,
Our Lady of the Talar.
Long hours of sleeplessness
it took to build the nest,
but it has all been a dream,
all has been an illusion.
At the first contrary wind
the boat lowered its sails,
and I was left alone and shipwrecked,
lost in the pain.
Sad is her name in the night
of my cruel despair,
I searched for you in the murky waters
I searched for you in the clear waters.
I traveled all the paths,
and as dawn arrived
the sun's face laughed,
to mock my illusion.
Our Lady of the Talar
I ask you please,
to calm my cruel pain
because it's going to kill me,
and I don't want love
to become my dagger,
I gave you my whole life,
I gave you my heart.
I shipwrecked because I believed
in the faith of that love,
but now that I lost it,
at least give me the power
to forget that I was
the little bee from the hive
that gave you all its honey,
Our Lady of the Talar.
