This Is What They Call Love?
Ed Rashed
Everything's tilted, everything's blurry
Can't straighten out one crooked thought you have
Everything's fuzzy, everything's cloudy
Can't walk a straight line - This Is What They Call Love?
Everything's flighty, everything's foggy
Out of control, your thoughts are off the wall
Everything's dreamy, everything's drizzly
Can't shake your head clear - This Is What They Call Love?
So you ask around and you ask your friends - Is this what you call love?
Though they try to help, maybe they don't know - maybe it's something else
Like a rare disease or an alien plot - something without a name
Or a cruel hoax, or some ancient gods having fun with you in some game
Feeling like falling, running then crawling
Can't get a grip, confusion is the rule
Hands are all shaky, head is all sweaty
Losing direction - This Is What They Call Love?
Feeling so dizzy, feeling so helpless
Vision is glossy, steamy thoughts all day
Rubbing your eyes and scratching your head
You can't figure out why - This Is What They Call Love
And you thought that you'd been around the block, thought that you'd seen it all
And you thought you knew all about this love - what did you really know?
You've been fooled before, you've misled yourself - been asleep at the wheel
Gotten off the track, taken all wrong turns - that never felt how this feels
Thought it was easy, heard it was heaven
Who's kidding whom, and what's the big appeal?
Everyone always calls it fantastic
Someone explain why This Is What They Call Love
They're out of their minds! - This Is What They Call Love?
