Sueño de Barrilete

Since I was a kid, I already had in my gaze
That crazy fantasy of dreaming
It was my childhood dream
To be like a kite
That rises among the clouds
With a wind of hope, it goes up and up
And I grew up in that world of illusion
And I only listened to my own heart
But life is not a toy
And lyricism in a worthless bill

I wanted to be a kite
Seeking height in my ideal
Trying to explain to myself that life is something more
Than giving everything for food
And I've been like a kite
To which a bad wind put an end
I don't know if my faith failed me, my will
Or maybe it was that I lacked string

In love, I only had disappointment
I gave away instead of selling my heart
I made verses forgetting
That life is just painful prose
That keeps drowning the best
And opening wounds, oh, life
Today I'm terrified of this endless fatigue
I shattered my glass smile
When I look at a kite
I wonder: where is that kid?
