Exiting
George Ogilvie
I'm running rings around
This silent old Spanish town
Where it only rained when the sun came out
Would appear as if from nowhere
Short and sweet and sightings were rare
But in patience lay a ritual I could bare
But if I could only exist where I stand
I'd be in amongst unfinished architecture
With an outcome unplanned
So don't tell me anything
I'm busy exiting my body
To let the world have its way with me
Bright colours against the sky
Yellow buildings no prying eyes
From the rooftops
I'll be anything you want
Into evening still broad daylight
As I shelter on a highway
Waiting as the 7.45 pulls in late
And if I could only exist where I stand
I'd be in amongst unfinished architecture
With an outcome unplanned
So don't tell me anything
I'm busy exiting my body
To let the world have its way with me
While I bide my time
A little closer to paradise
When all that's gone wrong in my life
Was only in my own mind
So don't tell me anything
Don't show me anything
I've no time for anything
No not anything at all
No don't tell me anything
I'm busy exiting my body
To let the world have it's way with me
While I bide my time
A little closer to paradise
When all that's gone wrong in my life
Was only in my own mind
