Past The Sky

Slowly down a one way street
With no room for change
Shadowed by a broken light
With wounds bleeding pain
Something that I can't quite reach
But I always try
And drain myself of confidence
Because I just can't lie

I always thought that I could get
Someone to glimpse my soul
Someone who would understand and make me feel more whole
A dream is to me as a tear is to the eye
I need to get you into your world
But I can't get past the sky

Headed off the beaten path
With only one eye on the road
With no comprehension of just how low is low
Something that I search to find
But I can't get past the door
That must always remain locked
For there's no room for more
