Moses
Jimmy Clifton
I was born a man, mama put me in a basket
Crocodile saints, sons of Israel, that’s so tragic
Pharaoh healed, through the land he rekindled our faith
By the storm, by the night, with no casket
Israel cried, God, on a bed of roses
With a cry of mother’s sin
Who opossed him, the God of jacob
And as genesis closes, he would raise up a prophet
His name was moses, whoa
Who can stand against our God?
I was growing tired of the life of an egyptian
So I inquuired tom my brethren’s affliction
They killed a man, they flared a fire by premonition
Till I met God, to save his people from their prison
Israel cried, God, on a bed of roses
With a cry of mother’s sin
Who opossed him, the God of jacob
And as genesis closes, he would raise up a prophet
His name was moses, whoa
Who can stand against our God?
God called me to save his people, place them dead to follow
Evil pharaoh had his heart against zion
I will bring God’s justice down
Israel will flee this town
And walk through seas on dry land
Israel cried, God, on a bed of roses
With a cry of mother’s sin
Who opossed him, the God of jacob
And as genesis closes, he would raise up a prophet
His name was moses, whoa
Who can stand against our God?
