Hazel
Rafael Witt
I’d run away
To sew the wind with my hair
Align with the Sun again
A time renegade
To fill the absence of colour
I’d wander in unison
I’d lace the world
Drive the roads all alone
Find air from my lungs to float
A time better spent
Steal the accents of words
No one would understand
No weight, no chase, no burden
Pulling me down
So, miraculously I
Flow through sadness and joy
Reckless, I fall
Still, I cry
Every second I have to change
But if I die every second
I get to change
I can’t just run away
I heard that time was a letter
Washed out in water paint
Unreadable, or is it?
I don’t know
I'm too used to my white blank page
No stain, no aim, no wonder
I feel so down
So, miraculously I
Flow through sadness and joy
Reckless, I fall
Still, I cry
Every second I have to change
But if I die every second
I get to change
Still, I cry every second I have to change
But if I die every second, I get to change
If I lie to myself, will I ever change?
These hazel eyes haven’t felt quite the same
I don’t wanna stay the same
