Deja Vu
Summer Salt
The day we left it all
We looked beyond the veil
As we went way into the woods
Fluorescent wildflowers and butterflies fluttering in the breeze
And as we walked along
The walls of neon moss
I tried to capture photographs
But none could ever catch the dream my eyes had seen
Sunday morning
Rainbows falling
We ain’t got nothing else to do
Jump off the waterfalls
And close our eyes
And hope for déjà vu
The rays and shadows cast magnificent displays upon the hours as they passed
I swear I heard an owl singing stand by me
We went around the ridge and we locked our arms together
We went skipping like a stone
The kind that reached the other side and remained set free
Sunday morning
Rainbows falling
We ain’t got nothing else to do
Jump off the waterfalls
And close our eyes
And hope for déjà vu
Extraordinary time
Extraordinary life
I don’t know what we will find
Was it with me the whole time?
Sunday morning
Rainbows falling
We ain’t got nothing else to do
Jump off the waterfalls
And close our eyes
And hope for déjà vu
