The Format was an American indie rock band formed in Peoria, Arizona, in 2001 by Nate Ruess and Sam Means. The duo gained a dedicated fan base with their unique blend of indie, pop, and rock influences, releasing their debut album 'Interventions + Lullabies' in 2003 and the follow-up 'Dog Problems' in 2006. Despite their success, the band disbanded in 2008, with Ruess going on to form the band Fun.
