Victory Garden
The Lone Bellow
Mockingbird, morning dew
Another day bright and new
There's a prayer that I carry with me
To be kind, to be meek
To love my enemies
To keep hope in the face of darkness
So we sow the seeds in our victory garden
Hands in the earth so the heart doesn't harden
Cries of our children won't soon be forgotten
Each one a flower in our victory garden
For the rain, for the Sun
For the hardships that come
We will carry this burden together
To be strong for the weak
Song for those who can't speak
Hand in hand no matter the weather
So we sow the seeds in our victory garden
Hands in the earth so the heart doesn't harden
Cries of our children won't soon be forgotten
Each one a flower in our victory garden
I remember the day
I saw innocence fade
Saw her tears through the glass in the window
Of the bus that was parked
Shots were still firing off
Oh God, who are we truly defending?
So we sow the seeds in our victory garden
Hands in the earth so the heart doesn't harden
Cries of our children won't soon be forgotten
Each one a flower in our victory garden
Rows and rows and rows of roses
Rows and rows and rows of roses
Each one a flower in our victory garden
