Um Grão de Areia
Abadá Capoeira
A Grain of Sand
Sadness lives with me
Because of loneliness
I seem like a swallow
Wanting to make summer
A drop of sweet water
Wanting to be a stream
A fallen seed
Wanting to be a plantation
But looking at the desert
I am just a grain
I wanted to be the moonlight
That illuminates my backlands
Or to be a star
From any constellation
I go on with my life
With my berimbau in hand
But looking at the desert
I am just a grain
I am a fish in the school
In the sea of vastness
I am a flower of the cerrado
That bloomed out of season
I want to be a good capoeira
And play with heart
But looking at the desert
I am just a grain
No one is greater than God
Who gave me everything in hand
But in this immense world
I am just a grain
