Peregrino
Abel Pintos
Pilgrim
Without thinking, without hesitating, it didn't take a minute more.
Leaving tears aside and pulling out his pain,
he wrote a farewell, planted a kiss on the paper:
"Until I can't help them, father, I won't return.
I will search through heaven, earth, and walk without rest.
I will carry my backpack, I want my chance.
Someone will lend me a hand without lying.
I will achieve a new life and soon I will come back for them.
I will find along the way someone like me.
We are pilgrims crossing the vastness.
Like a plant about to be born, our dream seeks the sun.
Like a tree wants to be,
without watering the roots, it will not bloom.
Hunger bites innocence.
Conscience comes and goes.
Looks turn into glass walls.
Hope bleeds for not being able to explain
What sin did we commit to not have bread?
It is the law of my destiny that will be fulfilled here.
I don't know where the road leads, but I know how to walk.
I'm not afraid of falls, I never stop dreaming.
One does not forget those who walk and leave footprints along the way.
I will find along the way someone like me.
We are pilgrims crossing the vastness.
Like a plant about to be born, our dream seeks the sun.
Like a tree wants to be,
without watering the roots, it will not bloom.
