Te Voy a Contar Un Sueño
Abel Pintos
I'm Going to Tell You a Dream
They arrive at night
Distant screams,
Breaks the moon, some puddle trembles in fear.
In Salamanca they ring bells,
Men want to kill each other holding a weapon
They no longer laugh,
They sell their firewood,
They no longer thank the river for giving them its sand,
Only the children, bread of the land,
Gather seeds to make the new harvest.
I had a fierce dream,
Little smoke clouds have risen to my patio.
A turkey whistles, robins sing
The mountain laughs, giving eyes to my hope
Lock the doors
For outside the gray birds scream
Trying to take a soul away;
They have already made nests on the roofs,
The sky is sad, the town's peace has gone.
Angel of the water
Give me your mirror
Where the magic rain takes flight
In Salamanca they ring bells,
Men want to kill each other holding a weapon
I had a fierce dream,
Little smoke clouds have risen to my patio
A turkey whistles, robins sing
The mountain laughs, giving eyes to my hope
