La Lluvia
Abel Velazquez
The Rain
The rain came to me,
And I covered myself, with fear,
And with old newspapers,
That lie, that there will be good weather,
Not a word, from you.
The rain came to me,
With the sun, as hope,
When the future rests,
Between never, and tomorrow,
There is never news, from you.
The rain wanted to clean,
The sky of, dark clouds,
Or my eyes, of illusions,
That laugh, to avoid crying.
And I ran, terrified towards a roof,
And I ran, to not get my shoes wet,
And I ran, like an idiot, who is terrified,
When he doesn't understand, that on earth
The sky still sends, miracles.
The rain came to me,
And I didn't know how to take risks,
For knowing myself vulnerable,
Or for feeling guilty,
For not being able, to be happy.
And I ran, terrified towards a roof,
And I ran, to not get my shoes wet,
And I ran, like an idiot, who is terrified,
When he doesn't understand, that on earth
The sky still sends, miracles.
The rain came to me,
And I didn't know how to take risks,
For knowing myself vulnerable,
Or for feeling guilty,
For not being able, to be happy.
