Princesa
Abel Velazquez
Princess
Dusk falls, and the night makes its way into my poems,
I struggle to breathe as I look at her as always,
Always far, always close, from my lips to her mouth,
A discreet tear grants her victory once again.
Princess, you won again,
Princess, I don't want to forget you.
I try not to look for you, not to repeat your name,
Knowing that in the attempt, my tears fade into silence,
And in your eyes, apologies turn into storm clouds,
And the songs I told you I sang for you, make me bleed.
Princess, you won again,
Princess, I don't want to forget you.
I always said,
That love is never asked for,
By force and now you see,
Princess, you won again,
Princess, I don't want to forget you.
I don't know how to make it not hurt,
Princess, you won again,
Princess, I don't want to forget you,
It's just that my voice has gotten used to this crying.
Princess, you won again,
Princess, I don't want to forget you,
And it's just that my voice has gotten used to this crying.
Princess, you won again,
Princess, I don't want to forget you,
Forgive me princess for this attempt to want,
To die in peace.
