The Iceberg
Sometimes when I think everything is lost
I head towards some forms of death
I shoot myself with a word
That once was so clear to me
In the tenderness of the running water
They remind me of the arrival of some trains
You come out of the seas, curves of the ports
With barefoot women in the green
I head towards the fire like the butterfly
And there's no rhyme that rhymes with living
Don't stop, don't kill yourself
It's just another way to delay
In the calm afternoons when I miss everything
I think that everything is not what I lost
A fair rose and even at the cost of losing
It's lost but it's gained
The struggle is equal against oneself
And that's winning
Don't stop, don't kill yourself
It's just another way to delay
I remember the stillness of the earth, the stillness of being inside
You believe more in miracles at the time of burial
This man worked, who will write his story
The dry lime, the dreaming widow
The friends who remain the same
Glory in sneakers, the empty vase
Who knows if he thought 'why do I live'
I live to not lose
I head towards the fire like the butterfly
And there's no rhyme that rhymes with living
Don't stop, don't kill yourself
It's just another way to delay
It's just another way to delay
It's just another way to delay
