Inverno
Adriana Calcanhotto
Winter
On the day I was happiest
I saw a plane
Reflect in your eyes
Until it disappeared
Since then I don't know
I walk along the canal
I write long letters to no one
And winter in Leblon is almost glacial
There's something that was never clarified:
Where exactly did I leave
That same day
The lion I always rode
Right there I forgot that destiny
Always wanted me alone
In a desert without longing, without remorse alone
Without ties, a drunken boat to the sea
I don't know what in me
Just wants to remind me
That one day the sky met the earth for an instant for both of us
A little before the west was amazed
