As Dez Virgens
Adriane Medeiros
The Ten Virgins
There were ten virgins, five foolish and five wise
They went to meet the bridegroom
The foolish virgins did not bring extra oil
To meet the groom
And while the groom delayed, they all fell into a deep sleep
But at midnight, a voice cried out like this
-Get ready, oh! ten virgins, the groom is coming!
The wise ones got up, lit their lamps
The foolish ones, worried, had no more oil
-Give us some of your oil
Our lamps have gone out
The wise ones replied
-If we give you, it will be lacking
Go quickly to the market, you can buy some there
They bought the oil and hurried to knock on the door
But the door closed and the groom said to them
-You cannot enter my feast!
So it will be at the coming of the Son of God
As with the ten virgins, so it will happen
Five will go up and five will stay
Those without reserve in heaven will not enter
The difference between the virgins that existed
Was not the clothes, nor the lamp
It wasn't the oil because they all had it
But it was the reserve, five had it and five did not
Set aside time, my brother, for prayer
Set aside time for consecration
Set aside time to praise and worship
Do not let the lamp of the Spirit go out
Because the rapture will happen very soon
