Virgen de Lourdes
Agustin Magaldi
Virgin of Lourdes
She arrived looking scared, I don't know with what worries
Her hands trembling, she crossed herself with faith
And from her handkerchief she took out a bouquet of orange blossoms
Which she left with the Virgin next to some crutches
She said she was a nurse and only begged
Praying for her little son who didn't want to die
Because if it was destiny; she wouldn't leave without him
When I heard her crying, pleading like this
Virgin; Virgin of Lourdes!
I come to you for help with faith
I want with your miracles
To be able to care for him in his childhood
Virgin; don't abandon me
Do for my son to live
Because I could never leave him
Without a mother and without a home
She kept staring fixedly at the image of the Virgin
She wiped away with a handkerchief all that she cried
Then ashamed, she looked sadly at everyone
As if they guessed her bitter confession
She continued praying, not caring about anything
Remaining there crucified with her hands
But then she opened her arms in desperation
When I heard her crying, singing this song again
Virgin; Virgin of Lourdes!
I come to you for help with faith
I want with your miracles
To be able to care for him in his childhood
Virgin; don't abandon me
Do for my son to live
Because I could never leave him
Without a mother and without a home
