Ancora In Volo
Albano Carrisi
Still In Flight
The rain-soaked road is a thin blade
that cuts through the evening and extinguishes it silently
on the wall, our tired words bounce
they don't know the sun
Hidden in the darkness rests melancholy
I spread it on bread, I eat it, it's truly mine
what a strange taste
of love
My immense love
enclosed in a thought
like a tired seagull
I still scratch the sky
to not die in flight
maybe tomorrow I'll wake up
with the smile of peace
Needing a small stupid dream
to light up when it's cold on a winter evening
and silently drink a glass of wine alone
looking into the distance
Calling a friend just to talk
trying not to get hurt in remembering
our laughter
in the summer
My immense love
lived in a thought
like a tired seagull
I still scratch the sky
to not die in flight
maybe tomorrow I'll wake up
with the smile of peace
maybe tomorrow I'll wake up
with the smile of peace
