That First Girlfriend
That first girlfriend
the one who stole my heart,
she, in some way
is still my girlfriend.
Revives a time that was,
time of passionate love
and I don't even remember
if I love her or have loved her.
That first girlfriend
gave me the first kiss
dark circles under my eyes
and the first excesses.
All-nighters with
the color of her name,
I made my pride, a relay
when becoming a man!
For that first girlfriend
I left the gang,
started waiting
and got a lot of pimples.
I would leave everything to see her
and she, flirty, knew
that I would do anything
just to have her with me,
from skipping school
to the biggest cowardice.
That first girlfriend
never wanted to leave me.
Now she has become a chimera
and wanders around my street.
She has a ribbon in her hair,
she has a dress with flowers,
over her eyes the veil
of an old time of loves.
That first girlfriend
is the one we all had,
who left us at the border
of what we wanted so much.
Adolescent torments,
that ache as we walk!
Tributes to the experience
that we must keep paying!
As the calendar goes by
numbing life
with frustrations and schedules,
with suicidal ambitions.
One fits into the herd,
one becomes more dull
and disappointments abound
and disagreements are plentiful.
As the years go by,
memories taste better.
That first girlfriend
the one who stole my heart,
she, in some way,
is still my girlfriend.
First love that returns,
because it was born in spring!
That's why it never dies,
that first girlfriend.
