La Ternura

Tenderness
Tenderness is a hand reaching out into the void
where sometimes we sink because of living,
turning routine and boredom into butterflies
and sowing roses on the paths to follow.
Tenderness is the painting of a child and an elder,
talking about life, each from their own time...
One full of experience from the things they've been through
and the other full of impatience for the things to come.
It's the grandmother weaving
God knows how many experiences!
while rocking, rocking you,
stitch by stitch her existence...
It's the voice of lovers,
when they speak in silence,
while floating in the air,
in the air of their dreams...
tenderness...
simple and clear...
plain and pure...
tenderness.
How many times overwhelmed by the weight of haste,
in the daily circus, we let ourselves be caught...
we become deserters of the warmth of a smile
and alter the values of living to endure.
And we keep moving forward
on the tightrope of life
and forgotten, in the meantime,
tenderness falls asleep...
Like a truce in the desert,
like a source of fresh water,
like a lighthouse and a harbor
when the storm rages...
tenderness...
simple and clear...
plain and pure...
tenderness.
