Mi Vejez
Alejandro Fernández
My Old Age
Yesterday they called me old,
for a moment I shuddered,
then, I looked in the mirror,
and finally noticed how much I aged,
I'm not going to cry about it,
I'm calm with this age,
if I'm going to leave the port,
I'll depart with dignity
Why cry, why suffer,
in the end the ones we love so much will go away,
Why cry, why suffer,
if in every wrinkle and every gray hair I left a story of my life.
I go with my face to the wind,
I will never tell them about my sorrows,
in the battle of time,
I proudly won them,
I'm not going to cry either for these furrows on my skin,
they are the result of the experience of bitter and sweet hours.
Why cry, why suffer,
in the end the ones we love so much will go away,
Why cry, why suffer,
if in the end when I die,
I leave here to sing to my colts.
