Invierno

Winter
I've seen in winter
little birds flying,
asking the sky
for a ray of light.
I've seen her later
crying with joy,
when in the summer
the sun shone.
A terrible torment
is to love madly
without being convinced
if you love me or not.
I've dreamed a thousand times
that your soul and mine
have been forming
a love nest.
I've seen in your eyes
my dear love
a reflection of affection
that was born in my soul.
But sleep peacefully
like a child sleeps
who never felt
pain in his chest.
I've seen my mother,
my beloved mother,
cry for my misfortune
like no one else did;
and one day crying
she told me, my son,
only in a mother
is love not false.
