Caminabamos

We were walking together under the night
the moon for you, your voice for me
down the road is where I quietly kissed you
and I didn't know what to do with this love.

We were walking together, perfume inside
and my reason clung to your hand
I can't quite say if these garden flowers
or your hair exuded that scent.

The odd moon allowing itself to be seen
and you suggested a verse to me
to keep looking at each other, the light
from a window pierced the silence
and life prevailed over us
or rather, I should say my fear did.
