Por Mirar El Sol
Alejandro Filio
For Staring at the Sun
Like in dreams your open gaze
the door to your uncovered soul.
Impossible for you to blame me for anything
the truth slips off your face.
Seeing the reflection like a calm lake
you bring back pure reality to me,
but you never say with your eyes anything
of what I would like to hear.
A sheet in the bonfire
of a rain against your hip.
An afternoon of horses
pulling a lightning bolt from your mouth.
More than a lake I prefer
to go blind for staring at the sun.
It's peace that gets stuck in my skin
instead of whirlwinds on my beach
I appreciate your good advice,
your desires, your mirror eyes.
For I reflect you like a calm lake,
you bring back tranquility to me,
but I wish you would tell me
with your eyes a storm.
