Un Precio

A Price
And when everything started to have a price
maybe when a fool looked at the light
and saw that by his ruthless side
without a roof or shelter, another life was taken.
Or was it when hunger ended with Eve
and the seductive reptile told her to try
what a price to pay, what a price to pay
what a price to pay for living love.
When a man owes more than he eats
it is understood that then the theory failed
because clinging and fat, ambition breathes
in another belly, in another mansion.
Man always tries to cure his ills
always worth so much, so much you will cure
evil continues to live as long as the bug exists
and the socialist runs after the capital.
We all continue to ride in a balloon
looking for a place without being able to get off
and there has never been a lack of those who put a price
on silence, on time, on light, on peace.
To others' rights and to respect itself
to skin, to vice or to freedom
to sincerity, to indulgence
to the sea, to science and even to the truth.
