Wake Up Downstairs
I cut my hair and made a blanket out of it
I leave it on the bed to warm you up
Since I don't love you, your back is quite exposed
Your neck is more afraid and every night is a storm
That hurts you so much
I collected my tears and made a potion out of them
I leave it on the dresser so you can quench your thirst
Since I don't love you, your throat is a chasm
Your chest burns strong, almost suffocating
And doesn't let you breathe
Wake up downstairs
Wake up downstairs
You were a beautiful Neapolitan cherry
Full of life, full of grain
But now you can't make it
Why??
I cut my nails and made a razor out of them
I leave it on the toilet so you can shave
Since I don't love you, your skin is now suspicious
Hair has grown strong on your stomach and heart
And it gives you so much pain
I cut my veins and made a dye out of them
I leave it on the tub to color us
Since I don't love you, your clothes are always dark
Your garments are black like crows over Bari, always cawing
Wake up downstairs
Wake up downstairs
You were a beautiful Neapolitan cherry
Full of life, full of grain
But now you can't make it
Why??
I cut my head and made a nice ball out of it
I leave it on the balcony so we can play a bit
Since I don't love you, you've fallen into depression
Locked in a room, you look like a flower of one color
And you've lost your mind
Wake up downstairs
Wake up downstairs
You were a beautiful Neapolitan cherry
Full of life, full of grain
But now you can't make it
Wake up downstairs
Wake up downstairs
You were a beautiful Neapolitan cherry
Full of life, full of grain
But now you can't make it
Why??
