Comme La Pluie
Alex Beaupain
Like the Rain
Sometimes we miss the rain
A storm would be more fitting
To shout those things out loud
To throw those words in each other's face
Sometimes we miss the rain
Like the sun can be cruel
Like its rays feel so cold
When we don't love each other anymore
Sometimes we lack the strength
A fight would have more bite
To beat your face to a pulp
So that no one wants to deal with it
Sometimes we lack the strength
Like our arms betray us
When love slips through our fingers
Like sand slipping away
Sometimes we miss the tears
A melodrama would have more class
A few tears, we deserve that much
But that's too much to ask, alas
Sometimes we miss the tears
Like our eyelids are dry
When Cupid in his quiver
Has no arrows left to fly
Sometimes we miss the night
The dark would suit me just fine
Those stars like so many crosses
A whole sky mourning us
Sometimes we miss the night
Like it takes forever to arrive
When it falls, don't you tremble at that?
All those nights yet to come ...
