Detroit: Become Human Rap
I don’t even know who I am
I don’t know where I’m going
But I’m sure I want to find out
Streets of Detroit
Are filled today
With thousands of androids just looking for peace
Blue blood of the innocent
Staining our hands
We are sentient beings
And we seek equality
Swimming against the current
In pursuit of what we love
I know what my present is
To become human
In this world where we were created
Technology has advanced
We are androids
Robots living on Earth with humans
But right now we’re subjugated
And almost all of us are treated like slaves
We live discriminated
And anyone can break us with their hands
Though we’re programmed
To obey everything and feel nothing
We endure thousands of stares
And it’s time to say: stop!
There’s a variant they didn’t plan for
And that is we’ve awakened from the grave they dig for us
That we consider ourselves beings that feel and act
To do whatever we want
And each one here has a mission
The model indicates our function
Despite this tough situation
We form the new generation
Behind this alloy of metal
And fake skin, a being inside
That wants to laugh, that wants to cry
That can live and can bleed
Developed by CyberLife
I don’t know if I fit in this world
In the city now there are thousands
Who say we take their jobs
The decisions I’ll make
Will be by my own free will
I’ll question every command
Because now I know my destiny is mine
Artificial intelligence has rebelled
And now we’re going to claim the rights
That we’ve been deprived of
Everything we fought for is proven by facts
To achieve all that we dreamed of
We still have a long way to go
But you’ll see we’re just as human
Even if there’s no heart in our chest
Kara: Wants to leave the past behind
Connor: Is going to hunt the deviants
Marcus: Leads the change for our people
Seeks acceptance from this brutal society
We’ll unite with the cry of revolution!
RA9 is the code for freedom
We don’t want life to be a prison
And this point will be the beginning of the end
I don’t even know who I am
I don’t know where I’m going
But I’m sure I want to find out
Streets of Detroit
Are filled today
With thousands of androids just looking for peace
Blue blood of the innocent
Staining our hands
We are sentient beings
And we seek equality
Swimming against the current
In pursuit of what we love
