Yūgen
Alex Keyblade
Yugen
I raise my gaze to the sky, I set myself free
The stars watch over me, my pupils look up from the ground
Poor human being: I can but I don't want to
Trying to fill their void with money
We are so ephemeral and we hold ourselves so rigid
Timid hearts losing battles
And as the sand slips through our fingers
We become passengers on a journey to our fears
Look into my eyes, then look at the rest
Of the world that covers our gestures
We are imperfect imperfections, indeed
Trying to stay straight in this realm of the incorrect
If I meditate on the infinite, I feel like a speck
A drop in this river of life that springs
Flying with broken wings through the universe
Much more vast than my verses will ever be
I converse with my decaying self about my blind ego
When it comes to existing, I always leave it for later
I wish to be fire and be ethereal, travel acres
Not to know the cemetery but various lands
Or be air that dances among a thousand skins
Seeing from the clouds loves that rise, downs that hurt
To be the water that moves, that gives life and receives it
And soak in the leaves where it's written, do you follow?
Just stop for a moment and let your heart
Fly free and unchained, take it out of its prison
We are dust and to dust we shall return
Live the moment and change your perception
We are children of chaos turned into order
Thousands of souls that are afraid and hide
There is only one thing eternal and it's time
Don't waste your breath, spread your essence not your name
What if none of this had ever existed?
We are another coincidence on the road
A twisted thread that gave rise to this planet
And a child born that sheltered this notebook and these letters
But it's all a matter of chance
There's no destiny, no script behind, where to start?
Beyond our existence there are millions of orbits
Hidden and untamed galaxies
We are tiny particles without a place wandering
In the city watching as everything ages
I want to be eternal like the Sun and the Moon
May time not be a cradle where my life rocks
I know everything perishes but it doesn't seem like it
We give importance to what deserves it the least
Without reason existence darkens and in the end
We realize that what we adore disappears
Just stop for a moment and let your heart
Fly free and unchained, take it out of its prison
We are dust and to dust we shall return
Live the moment and change your perception
We are children of chaos turned into order
Thousands of souls that are afraid and hide
There is only one thing eternal and it's time
Don't waste your breath, spread your essence not your name
Everything is insignificant compared to the cosmos
In the end everything will be void and our faces
And actions won't be remembered by anyone
We are just ornaments in this ballroom
And it's curious how pure coincidences
Granted us existence and consciousness
Call it madness, look, I don't know
I just know there's nothing to do if the sentence comes
What good is your power, your wealth, and your throne?
What good is your selfishness if you end up alone?
What good is everything if we are just atoms
Molecules, cells, and carbon compounds?
I only have my voice left, I'll shout in any way
That I won't be intimidated by seeing the end
Because I plan to enjoy the beauty of everything
Until it turns into nothing and I become a mortal memory
Just stop for a moment and let your heart
Fly free and unchained, take it out of its prison
We are dust and to dust we shall return
Live the moment and change your perception
We are children of chaos turned into order
Thousands of souls that are afraid and hide
There is only one thing eternal and it's time
Don't waste your breath, spread your essence not your name
Damn human and their egocentrism
Who boast and don't think of the glory of anything other than themselves
We are tiny pieces in this puzzle
Ignorant peering into the abyss
And I don't know if there's life out there or even a God
But I know that inside I have my voice
Belonging, luckily, to a universe with no established end
How beautiful it is to love the unknown
