Un Millón de Palabras
Alex Ponce
A Million Words
My heart refused to admit
What my mind already knew
I no longer saw that sparkle in your eyes when you looked at me
And in the end, we became two strangers
Who know each other perfectly
It hurts so much to slowly stop loving you
A million words won't bring you back
I know because I said them
And a million tears won't bring you back, I know because I cried them
Why did it have to be this way?
You left without giving me explanations
After all I fought so you wouldn't leave me
And I'm tired of insisting on something that clearly no longer exists
I never said goodbye because I wanted you to always stay with me
I neglected myself, to take care of you, I stopped loving myself, to love you more
Tell me how I'm supposed to go on
And even if I write a thousand and one poems to you, I know you'll never come back
If you've already left my life, why don't you leave my mind
A million words won't bring you back
I know because I said them
And a million tears won't bring you back, I know because I cried them
Why did it have to be this way?
You left without giving me explanations
After all I fought so you wouldn't leave me
And I'm tired of insisting on something that clearly no longer exists
I'm left wondering what we could have been and never were
