From a very young age they told me that you were the owner
Of gold and silver and that dreams came true
For those who knew you and professed your name
That you were everything that man needed

They also told me that when someone got sick
Nothing like prayer, in your power everything healed
And even though you were invisible, nothing was impossible
Just having faith was enough and everything became possible

And then I met you and realized you were real
What they had said was right, not wrong
That you prosper, you lift up, and you heal the sick
But there are things I contemplate at night as I fall asleep

For example, what I feel since I consecrate myself
I keep feeling it whether you perform a miracle or not
You know what I feel, my words are sincere
That I adore you in scarcity or financial abundance

I didn't set conditions to start following you
The cross was enough for me and all you did for me there
I don't follow you for what you can do
But for what you did on the cross, and that's what I want to believe

Following you for the benefits saddens me
I want the Master, not the loaves and fishes
I follow you not because you healed me or made me prosper
I follow you, Jesus, because you saved me

For what happened on the cross
I follow your path
For the blood shed
Even though I was nothing
It was for me on the wood

Even if I can't see anything
It doesn't depend on a miracle

Today I worship you with my life
Even if I can't see you
I shouldn't worship you depending on my situation
I should do it at all times, hour, day, or occasion
I shouldn't seek you just for generating benefits
But because I appreciate the end of that sacrifice

You are God, the sovereign who rules, that's what I believe
Not that genie in the lamp who grants wishes
You already know everything and choose what's best for me
You don't grant whims that anyone might fancy

And forgive me if one day I question you in my mind
Sometimes when your answer to me was no
Like a father, you care for me, supply me, even sustain me
Like a father who knows what's best for his child

Where was I when you created everything without flaw
I could never doubt the perfect plan you have
Even if I don't understand the why of trials and challenges
For your thoughts are always higher than mine

It's because my life was already destined for you
