Mi Raiz
Ali A.K.A. Mind
My Root
My people, I just want with this present
To describe what I know, I have lived and it's evident
Obviously, with the corresponding respect
And admiration for those who always represent us
Colombia my root, my essence, my cradle
Like no other beautiful muse that drives this pen today
It's a living pearl on this planet
Tarnished by people who never respect the people
It's a divine Latin quena with
Adrenaline on every corner and a routine worthy of admiration
With incredible natural places
Colossal cities, different and unpredictable
Of invisible fighters, unstoppable minds
Who just want to be free from insensitive businessmen
Who offer laughable salaries
And from dirty and useless presidents, police, and mayors
The consequence is delinquency in the cities
And foolish violence evidencing needs
Needs? A change in priorities
For example, no more weapons and more universities
Colombia, it's a cup of coffee
It's an elderly woman very devoutly praying to God with faith
An independent candy seller with a baby carriage
A daily soap opera with high TV ratings
It's the land of Binomio, Los Zuleta, Diomedez
Of Lisandro Mesa, Los Hispanos, Alfredo Gutierrez
Of friendly customer service, reliable transportation
And stores where everything is negotiable
Of Escalona, Botero, Galán
Of Garzón, Gabriel García Márquez, Gaitán
Of Happy Lora, Lucho Herrara, Higuita, and El Pibe
Colombia is the Amazon, the Pacific, and the Caribbean
Colombia, I owe you this toast
Thank you for giving me courage, I value your bravery
Night and day I think of you with love and nostalgia
And in the distance, I paint your name in my melody
My Colombia is: María Hilda, Nelson, Fredy
Santigo, Davo, Gabo, Nathan, Nicolache, and Kevin
The Montoya, Rey, Quintero, and Calderon families
And those many I don't name but carry in my heart
The neighborhoods, Soacha, San Mateo, and El Galán
That educated me, put up with me, were there and will be
The skaters of Romano on Third with Fifty
And the groups of Pradera, Primavera, and Milenta
And my This Order Crew, the true warriors
Rappers, beer drinkers, partygoers, and aguardiente drinkers
Street writers like Ospen, Eks, and Deen
Who, along with Cups and the TZO Crew, represent my dream team
In short, an infinity of affinity and respect
For those who accept their truth with pride and are never still
For the individual who invests time only looking ahead
And challenges turn them into outstanding beings
Evidently, what makes us different
It's not our beaches, it's the courage of the people
It's the dedication to work, the love for initiative
That nests in each one what keeps it alive
And even if they say what they say
Outside the border
It's not a homeland of war
It's a warrior homeland
You who gave me light and had in your
Roots my soul blooming
I ask you to remove the cross and give calm to your
Children who are suffering
Talking from afar, I feel it's not cowardice
I'm not doing this out of hypocrisy
An internal feeling is what guides me
It's that I keep feeling and believing that you are mine
