A Vitória de Ana
Alice Maciel
Ana's Victory
Ana, distressed woman, her enemy provoked her
But the Lord had closed her womb
She couldn't have children
The priest Eli didn't understand her
And said: How long will you be drunk?
But Ana answered and said
Not my Lord, I am a woman
Troubled in spirit
I have not drunk strong drink or wine
But I have poured out
My soul before the Lord
Then Eli answered and said: Go in peace
And may the God of Israel grant your request
And Ana rose up, worshiped early
Elkanah knew Ana and the Lord remembered her
Ana wept at the Lord's feet
Ana prayed, God heard the prayer
The Lord opened Ana's womb
And the son was born to be the Lord's, forever
The Lord opened Ana's womb
And the son was born to be the Lord's
Forever the Lord's
Weep at the Lord's feet, pray and He will hear you
As God remembered Ana, He will remember you
