Depois da Cruz
Aline Barros
After the Cross
Before the cross, I stood condemned
Bearing the heavy weight of sin
Till God in mercy reached for me
And gave me life to rise again
Before the cross, I stood apart
The veil still torn not yet in two
On one side me, on one side God
But through the cross, He brought me through
After the cross of Christ my King
A sinner’s story rewrote its end
That sinner me, far off, alone
But grace said: Come, and called me in
After the cross of Christ my King
Dead dreams awoke in me anew
That dreamer me, lost, without hope
But by His hand, my life He moved
Before the cross, I stood condemned
Bearing the heavy weight of sin
Till God in mercy reached for me
And gave me life to rise again
Before the cross, I stood apart
The veil still torn not yet in two
On one side me, on one side God
But through the cross, He brought me through
After the cross of Christ my King
A sinner’s story rewrote its end
That sinner me, far off, alone
But grace said: Come, and called me in
After the cross of Christ my King
Dead dreams awoke in me anew
That dreamer me, lost, without hope
But by His hand, my life He moved
When He died, I died with Him
When He rose, I rose again!
When He won, I won the fight
He reigns in heav’n, I’ll rise with Him!
I will (I will), I will rise (I will rise!)
After the cross of Christ my King
A sinner’s story rewrote its end
That sinner me, far off, alone
But grace said: Come, and called me in
After the cross
