Surdo e Mudo
Alisson Santos
Deaf and Mute
One day a child in the sisters' congress
Was deaf and mute, couldn't worship
But while the group sang to God
The presence of the Spirit visited the church
Someone couldn't stand it and started jumping
Another couldn't bear it and started marching
Another was a bit crazy and started running
And the deaf and mute child began to observe
And in sign language asked his mom
Mom, why did these people jump?
And on the other side, his mother replied
My child, this is the power of God
And the curious boy started to speak
I don't speak, I don't hear but I want to jump
I don't speak, I don't hear but I want to march
Find a way, my little mother, I want to worship
And when his mother came home
She took a notebook from the closet
In a few moments she wrote on paper
And then tore the paper into pieces
She put it in a little bag
And handed it to her son
And looking into his eyes, she began to speak
Tomorrow at church when someone jumps
Fill your hand with little papers and throw them in the air
Tomorrow at church when someone marches
Fill your hand with little papers and throw them in the air
It's with paper, oh my child, that you will worship
The next day at church the boy arrived
And sat in the front rows
He was watching to see who would jump
He was eager to throw paper in the air
When someone jumped, he threw paper
When someone marched, he threw paper
When someone ran, he threw paper
Tears rolled down his face
Suddenly, an usher approached
And the mother noticed the usher arguing with the boy
The mother stood up and went to talk to the usher
Why did you argue with my son?
And the furious usher began to speak
Did you not give your son education?
This is not a place to throw paper on the floor
And tears rolled down the mother's face
The usher was surprised
And out of curiosity, he crouched down
Picked up a paper from the floor and started reading
When he read, tears rolled down his face
On the paper it was written glory to God
On the paper it was written hallelujah
On the paper it was written praised be the name of the Lord
I am deaf and mute but I am a worshiper
I am deaf and mute but I am a worshiper
I am deaf and mute but I am a worshiper
Open your mouth to worship
Raise your hands to worship
God is in this place
You have hands and don't raise them
You have legs and don't jump
You have everything and don't worship the name of the Lord
You have health and only complain
You have a house and only complain
You have everything and don't worship the name of the Lord
If you need paper, I will look for it
If you need a bag, I will give it to you
But if you have a mouth, open it to worship
But if you have hands, raise them to worship
This story is true
It happened in the northeast of the country
