Kikiô

Kikiô
Kikiô was born in the center
Between mountains and the sea
Kikiô saw everything beautiful
Every Indian around here
Indian America gave children
It was Tupi, it was Guarani
Kikiô died happy
Leaving the land for both
Guarani went south
Tupi went north
And they formed their tribes
Each in their place
Sometimes they met
By the rivers of America
And fought together against the
white man in search of servitude
And suffered so much pain cornered in the backcountry
Tupi entered the Amazon
Guarani still calls
Kikiô on the full moon
Whether Tupi or Guarani
