Serenata
Amado Batista
Serenade
Ah, how I wished
To go back to the past
Sing with my friends
For you to serenade
In the empty early mornings
With dew, my wet guitar
I sang at your window
I was your boyfriend
The Moon descended from the sky
Me singing, you waking up
With eyes full of love
You opened the window and kissed me
After giving you a flower
Almost crying, I would leave
Ah, if that time returned
Of poetry, without past pain
Time passed like the clouds
Blown by the storm
Where is my joy?
I no longer have happiness
I will sing to you again
To throw away this killing pain
I will call my best friend
And serenade you
The Moon descended from the sky
Me singing, you waking up
With eyes full of love
You opened the window and kissed me
After giving you a flower
Almost crying, I would leave
Ah, if that time returned
Of poetry, without past pain
