El Duende

The Goblin
There are two lenses
To discover the world,
There are always a thousand evils
That are good for the left-handed.
People who wish
For the cosmos to be normal
People who plead
For it to never be.
Fools who today toss
Their coins into the fountain,
Realists who don’t hesitate
To get wet and grab them.
That’s why I tell you
There are two types of dialects,
There are two types of secrets
Merged into one.
It’s not easy to choose,
2000 ways to feel,
2000 ways to live.
You’ll have to learn to listen
To the goblin that’s there, inside you.
We have two halves
Separated by a thread
And that thread, in turn,
A thousand divided corners.
We search insatiably
For the truth in ourselves,
The incorruptible faction,
What’s solid in everyone.
That atom that says
To throw the coins
Into that crystal fountain
Where the cosmos is born.
That’s why I tell you
There are two types of dialects,
There are two types of secrets
Merged into one.
It’s not easy to choose,
2000 ways to feel,
2000 ways to live.
You’ll have to learn to listen
To the goblin that’s there, inside you.
