My gentle soul, that departed from me
So early from this discontented life
Rest there in Heaven eternally
And may I live here on earth always sad

If in the ethereal seat, where you ascended
Memory of this life is allowed
Do not forget that ardent love
That you already saw so pure in my eyes

And if you see that you can deserve
Some cause for the pain that remained with me
