Against David rose up a man named Sheba
Dividing all the people against the king, wanting to make war against the king
So David ordered Abishai, valiant men, soldiers of war
Joab treacherously killed Amasa
Taking full command of the army
And they went to pursue Sheba

They went after Sheba, but something happened
A wise woman, yet unnamed, appeared there
Then she cried out and said to Joab
Come near here so I can speak to you
So he approached, and asked what do you want?
And she spoke thus:

Sir, I am one of the peaceful and faithful of Israel
And you seek to kill a city that is a mother?
And he said: Far be it from me to do such a thing
But only one man from the hill country of Ephraim
Whose name is Sheba, has raised his hand against David
Hand him over to me, and I will withdraw from the city

And the wisdom of that woman
Convinced Joab not to destroy the city
She gathered all the people as promised
They cut off his head
Threw it over the wall and justice was done

Be wise in your walk
Be wise in your talk
Be wise in your dress
Be wise in your gaze
Be wise in your touch
Make a difference!

Wherever you go, like that woman
Who without complaining marked a whole history
Because she was known as the Peaceful Woman!
