It happened like this: Vashti's refusal cost her a high price
For refusing an order from King Ahasuerus, she was expelled from the palace
The king asked the wise men what should I do about this disrespect?
They said: Do this, expel her from the palace then issue this decree

And the decree was that all the beautiful virgins from all the provinces
Gather at the fortress of Susa to be under the care of the king's eunuch, Hegai
And the girl who pleases the king's eyes will take Vashti's place

And so it was done, after that meeting they announced the order
Many girls came to meet the king
All beautiful and with their spices but only one truly enchanted the king, and that girl was Esther

God does this, honors whom He wants
He transforms, empowers, and gives strength
He exalts, puts in plain sight
But when He wants to humble, who can contend with Him?
He complicates then explains why He made it complicated
In your life, this story is not over
There's something big about to happen
Trust, wait, and see what God will do
Esther didn't know but God was preparing something new in her life

There's newness coming there
Newness coming here
