O Relógio

Amaro Batista Amaro Batista

The Clock

I woke up early today
Went to work
Spent the whole day on the road
The train I used to take didn't stop at the station
There were people crying and others shouting

I returned to my house
I looked for my wife and didn't find her
Jesus came in the clouds
Took his church and I stayed

Now it's too late
The door has already closed
I didn't reach the station
When the train passed
I stopped to take a break
Time didn't stop
My old clock is late

I came back from work
Sat on the couch
For me, the important thing was the news
Now there's not even a commercial, it's sad news all day long

The event I didn't expect was too fast
Some friends disappeared
My dear children
And also my parents

Now it's too late
The door has already closed
I didn't reach the station
When the train passed
I stopped to take a break
Time didn't stop
My old clock is late

I looked for my Bible
Which was neglected, I found it on the dusty floor

I didn't care to read any verse
And now I don't understand anything
If I insist, I get a headache and feel bad
The spirit left the Bible, now it's like a newspaper

Now it's too late
The door has already closed
I didn't reach the station
When the train passed
I stopped to take a break
Time didn't stop
My old clock is late
