Abismo de Rosas
Américo Jacomino
Abyss of Roses
To love in vain flee
I sought, for you
Soon you made me hear
Your lying, delicious voice...
And today, it is my ideal
An abyss of roses
Where, dreaming, I must,
Finally, suffer and love!
But today, what does it matter
If your soul is cold?
My heart finds comfort
In your own irony!
If there is on my face
A laugh of joy,
What does the silent sorrow matter
Of my pain, like this,
Endlessly?
If my hope
What cannot be achieved
Dreamed to seek,
Must silence
Today my suffering
And never tell you about it.
Love that is pure
Endures dark,
Almost smiling,
The pain of seeing
The most beautiful illusion die.
Humbly, you see that I go
To bring to your feet
My heart, which swore
To always be a friend and devoted.
Even though I have to live
In this deceived dream,
I will never say
That I lived like this
Because I loved you!
