Só de Sacanagem

Just for Fun
My heart is pounding!
How many times will my hope be put to the test?
How many trials will it have to go through?
All that's in the air: Suitcases, underwear flying stuffed with money, my money, our money that we saved hard to educate the poorer kids than us, to take care of their health and their parents' for free
This money travels in the baggage of impunity and I can't take it anymore
How many times, my friend, my boy, my trust will be put to the test?
How many times will my hope wait at the dock?
It's true that difficult times exist to perfect the apprentice, but it's not right that the lies of the bad Brazilians come to break in our face
My heart is in the dark
The light is simple, watered by the simple advice of my father, my mother, my grandmother and the righteous who preceded them
- Thou shalt not steal!
- Return your classmate's pencil!
- That sharpener is not yours, my daughter!
Instead, so many disgusting and vile things I've had to hear. Even preventive habeas corpus, something I had never heard of, and about which my poor logic still insists: This is the kind of benefit that only the guilty will be interested in
Well, if they messed with me, with the old and faithful faith of my suffering people, then now I'm going to mess around: I'll be even more honest. Just for fun!
They will say
- Stop being silly, since Cabral everyone here steals
And I will say
- It doesn't matter! This will be my carnival. I will trust more and again. Me, my brother, my son, and my friends. We will pay clean to whom we owe and receive clean from our customer. With time we can become free, ethical, and all that
They will say
- It's useless, everyone here is corrupt, since the first man who came from Portugal
And I will say
- I don't accept it! My hope is immortal!
And I repeat, did you hear?
Immortal!
I know we can't change the beginning, but, if we want, we can change the ending
