A Vitória da Cruz
Ana Paula Valadão
The Victory of the Cross
Like a roaring lion the Devil wants to devour us
He's seeking a way to destroy, steal, and kill
It's not by our strength that we can overcome
Greater is Jesus in us and comes to defend us
The blood shed on the cross was to save me
My sin and pain Jesus took, suffered in my place
He paid my debt so I could be free
Christ died for me, I can live
Today I am free to love God
To live victorious as His child
Today I am free to celebrate
Sin can no longer dominate me
Crucified Jesus and hell rejoiced in celebration
They thought they had won, defeated the Savior
But it wasn't the nails that held Him on the cross
It was my sin that killed Jesus
The day turned dark
And the whole universe trembled
The lost crowd saw that He was the Son of God
The temple veil tore, today I can
Enter the Holy of Holies to worship
Today I am free to love God
Right in the middle of the celebration, the Devil began to hear
Strong steps that shook the whole earth and went to check
When the doors opened, the lamb saw
And like a lion, Jesus roared
He fell like a serpent, every principality bowed down
The Lion of Judah stepped firmly and crushed them
He took the key from the Devil's hands
Opened my chains and rescued me
Today I am free to love God
And on the third day, the tombstone rolled away
And there came, came Mary, but the body
She did not find
The Angel told her He was not there
Among the dead she should not seek
She saw a gardener and asked: Where, where is my Lord?
He looked into her eyes
And called her by name
She recognized the voice of the master
Rabboni my Jesus has risen
Today I am free to love God
He lives, He lives
He reigns, He reigns
He is risen, He is risen
He is victorious, He is victorious
He is seated, He is seated
On the throne, on the throne
Only He is worthy, only He is worthy
Of all praise, of all praise
Today I am free to love God
