O Inocente
Anderson Barony
The Innocent
The temple veil was torn, and the sky darkened
Terrified soldiers, as the earth trembled
Three crosses up high, three different men
Two were guilty and one was innocent
A soldier pierced his flesh with a spear
Blood and water flowed from the innocent savior
They buried the innocent, a guard was set
His body and clothes could have been stolen
The heavy stone was removed by an angel from the door
The soldiers saw when the innocent rose
The folded linens, the tomb couldn't hold him
The condemned innocent was the Son of God
I was guilty, he was innocent
For me, it was the cross he humbly carried
The lashes he endured were meant for me
His flesh was torn, he endured until the end
The crown he wore had a different destination
It was for my head, he paid the price
I was condemned, my fight he bought
I who was hated, today he loved me
I was guilty, he was innocent
For me, it was the cross he humbly carried
The lashes he endured were meant for me
His flesh was torn, he endured until the end
The crown he wore had a different destination
It was for my head, he paid the price
I was condemned, my fight he bought
I who was hated, today he loved me
Today he loved me
