Locomotiva
Andréa Fontes
Locomotive
Seeing the ties on the tracks where the train rolls by
I’m led to reflect on the life that believers live
Our life is like a train, it has to stay on track
Even when the storm hits, we can’t turn back
The believer who talks too much, criticizing his brother
But doesn’t have his life straight and lives in grumbling
Is like a locomotive that whistles for no reason
Making a lot of noise, but never reaching the station
The TV’s on with soap operas and shows as well
Makes the brother show up at church just for the amen
This believer’s more like an old, weak train
When it hits the hill, it wants to climb but has no gain
The believer who’s not steady and keeps stumbling around
Lacks the courage to move forward, no will to be found
Is a train with loose wheels, needs a fix-up fast
'Cause on a dangerous curve, it could derail at last
The believer who claims to preach and knows how to work
But when you check, knows nothing, just loves to talk
Is like a rusty locomotive with a motor that’s shot
Barely moves at all and just lets out steam a lot
Here I’ll wrap up my comparison
Reflecting on these verses, they’ll all see my point
I’ll keep following my track to reach the station
Jesus Christ is the engineer and never loses direction
