La Guitarra
Andrés Calamaro
The Guitar
I had a problem with a difficult solution,
in a tough time in my life.
I was between a rock and a hard place,
and enduring my family's opinion.
I didn't want a regular life,
I didn't like office hours.
My rebellious spirit laughed
at money, luxury, and comfort.
And I had a revelation,
I know what I want in this life.
I will follow my calling
music will be my roof and my food.
Because I
don't want to work,
don't want to go to school,
don't want to get married.
I want to play the guitar all day,
and have people fall in love with my voice.
Because I
don't want to work,
don't want to go to school,
don't want to get married.
And in my head I had
my old man's voice,
that sounded like
a drum roll.
You, better shave,
better grow up, better work.
I'm tired of you drinking my beer,
I'm going to hit you with the guitar on the head.
You, better shave,
better grow up, better work.
I'm tired of being your source of money,
I'm going to put that guitar on your head like a hat.
And I had a revelation,
I know what I want in this life.
I will follow my calling
music will be my roof and my food.
Because I
don't want to work,
don't want to go to school,
don't want to get married.
I want to play the guitar all day,
and have people fall in love with my voice.
Because I
don't want to work,
don't want to go to school,
don't want to get married.
And in my head I had
my old man's voice,
that sounded like
a drum roll.
You, better shave,
better grow up, better work.
I'm tired of you drinking my beer,
I'm going to hit you with the guitar on the head.
You, better shave,
better grow up, better work.
I'm tired of being your source of money,
I'm going to put that guitar on your head like a hat.
